Memories from an Oldschool Gamer

by Victor Matheus

The last one is priceless.

I just saw this pop up on my dash - fantastic stuff indeed !

Makes me want to redo that Ezio, though …

Over The Horizon - Journey

Some of you may remember an old gradient piece I made called "Pixel Tatooine Landscape" - it was a little pixel experiment that turned out to be quite popular, but I didn’t have much time to follow up on the idea.

Well, here’s another one I’ve managed to cobble together, this time inspired by the vast desert landscapes of “Journey”. Hopefully it won’t be my last foray into this sort of thing - it’s quite fun and It makes a nice change from the normal, y’know ?

The book that the late David Rakoff completed just before he passed away last August, Love, Dishonor, Marry, Die, Cherish, Perish, will be published on July 16. It sounds wonderful.
Ira Glass to The New York Times:

Its dirty little secret is that David was probably a better novelist than he was an essayist. I mean, he was a great essayist, famous and all that, but that came so hard to him, and I think writing this, writing drama, gave him so much more pleasure.

An interview with Rakoff here. And a remembrance here.

Behold! The supermoon!

Thanks to its close proximity to Earth over the weekend, the moon appeared up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than its everyday self, providing photographers a perfect opportunity to take some stunning photos - a selection of which can be seen above.
